Hey Spicefolk, My query today is hoping someone has a copy of HP's SPP Update Package they would be willing to make available to download. Our copy(USB) finally died, and it seems we do not have the package stored in our repository and the original service contract we had to obtain the software in the first has since expired.
Hello everyone.I like to keep our various ProLiant servers up-to-date with the latest HP ProLiant Service Packs. However, right now, I'm a little confused as to which ones I should install. Here is how I'm understanding it, but please correct me if I'm wrong:For G9 ang G10 servers, install 2017.07.1For G8, G7, G6 or lower, install 2017.04.0Is this correct? Is the 2017.07.1 only meant for G9 and G10? I could just use some guidance on what the latest service pack is for each generation right now.maybe someone could help?Thank you in advance! I greatly appreciate the assistance!
Okay, now there are post production service packs. I have to admit, and I apologize in advance.but I'm horribly confused. Are Gen 8 and older considered to be 'Post production servers?' Can someone explain the difference between these service packs? If I have a Gen 8 server, do I need to install the 2017.04.0 service pack and THEN the new post production service pack specific to Gen 8?What do I need to install now for a Gen 9 or Gen 10 server? From what I understand, the 2017.07.1 service pack is only for gen 9 and gen 10.I'm horribly confused. Is someone able to help me understand this? Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Are Gen 8 and older considered to be 'Post production servers?' Yes. Can someone explain the difference between these service packs? As said, PPGen8.0 is for Gen8 only, PPG7 for G7 only, SPP2017.07 for Gen9 + Gen10 only. If I have a Gen 8 server, do I need to install the 2017.04.0 service pack and THEN the new post production service pack specific to Gen 8?No. PPGen8.0/G7 is based on SPP2017.04+ some hotfixes What do I need to install now for a Gen 9 or Gen 10 server?SPP2017.07 From what I understand, the 2017.07.1 service pack is only for gen 9 and gen 10.Yes.
